yun na nga minsan advantage natin. "certification" kaso may e coconsider tayo dito:

1. Few questionnaires(leakage) particularly CISCO can be found in internet.
2. Mostly, certification can be consider as a product promotion.
   * CISCO is a networking company.
* last, do you think magagamit mo certificates mo sa Microsoft pag aapply tayo sa rival company like SUN Microsystems?

icoconsider ko ang pagiging professional ko without a doubt kesyo may petty leakages sa internet, kung sa Bar exams man e available why question the fact na available ang leakages nang Cisco sa internet, eto lang naman yan eh umasa ka man sa leakages lalabas pa ren kung alin talaga ang skill nang totoong nag aral
just a point of view

another thing to think about is why would you prefer to apply sa considered mo palang rival nang skills na namaster mo,kaya ka nga nag focus dun because you aim to work with it,and if totoo kang IT you would definitely understand that you are inclined with the fast pace of development sa career mo so you do not mind if few years later eh magtake ka ulet...

just a thought

coming from the I.T. Industry, certifications are not a guarantee of a good job.. if you have a pretty good and wider experience, mas pipiliin pa rin yung mas malawak yung experience..  Pero, may mga certifications talagang sa sobrang hirap ay malaki ang chance mung makakapasok pag napasa mo to.. one example is the RHCE...
Do what you think is right today and do it right tomorrow.

Tama ka dyan  toast::

I think ung nagsabe nun naiigit lang kasi IT is really booming now. Almost every company these days have an IT dept.

actually hindi mabubuhay ang mga company ngayon kung wala ang IT.. sila ang backbone ng industry at kapag wala IT bagsak lahat ng company.. actually nakaranas na ako ng ibang pangmamalait dahil sa IT lang ako..nakakabadtrip pero at the same time naawa ako sa kanila kasi pakiramdam ko nasasabi nila yun kasi ignorante sila.. actually nung una ayaw ko rin sa IT.. nagsabi pa ako na indi ako magIIT pero tinapos ko ngayon IT ;D..  pero ngayon after ko natapos IT.. sasabihin ko tanga lang ang magsasabi ang walang kwenta IT.. kasi kung wala kang alam at ignorante sa mga bagay.. masasabi mo talaga yun..

nabasa ko nga sa yahoo.. mas may edge ngayon ang mga IT & engineers kasi more in technical side sila compared dun sa mga nagtake ng non-technical.. mas mahirap daw makahanp ngayon ang mga non-technical ng trabaho.. karamihan daw ng unemplyed ngayon is yung mga non-technical..

as of now nagplaplano ako magtake ng CISCO kaso magiipon muna kasi mahal talaga.. sana matapos ko yung hanggang level 4 within 4 years :D

it ain't over. . .till its over

What if you're considered "professional"?

What if you're not considered "professional"?

What are the advantages of being considered a "professional"?

I.T. ako at eto ang sakin.

Kung dun sa broad meaning ng professional na "highly educated, mostly salaried workers, who enjoy considerable work autonomy, economic security, a comfortable salary, and are commonly engaged in creative and intellectually challenging work." papasa yung I.T.

Are you agree with this statement:

"IT professionals cannot be called as PROFESSIONALS because they have no licensure exam..."

-sa akin lang, if you act ethically (according to I.T. code of ethics) lang towards your work eh, pwede kang tawaging professional.

Paano magkakaroon ng licensure exam, every now and then may bagong update sa Information technology,
Yung bang may licensure exam, nauupdate ba yung technology in terms sa FIELD of SPECIALIZATION nila?

professional..it's how you do your work...IMO

proud ComSci of AMACC Makati ako...but i cannot call my self professional, kasi panay chat, Espiya, camfrog, download music, movies and kung ano-ano pa, play PC games, wala ako hilig sa online games kc..:D...ito ginagawa ko sa ofc...(hirap pag small office, and maayos ang set-up)..;D...of course i can say "untouchable" ako, i'm always late, but never ako umabsent, i'll handle all communication needs at the office...data and voice....wala lang...

perks of being an IT...sila all block, ikaw hindi, even those "close" to you...you can "read" their emails, or snoop on them (if you want, and if you are that bad)..;D...and among others... ;D

and it doesnt mean, walang "licensure exam" hindi na professional....

I think na uupdate, thru training & seminars, required na makakuha nang points bago maka renew katulad nang sa pag attend attend sa mga seminars , as Engr. man or RN. (kelangan kami makasabay sa new trends)

::secret

gandang araw 0 gabi...

sakin eh ibang at mka bagong field and IT. Like other non board degrees.. you can be called professionals by the time you graduate and since there is no regulating body like PRC, when it comes to quality of graduates, it really matters if what school you finish your non board degree.

Mahirap lagyan ng board ang IT or ICT degree since there is no ACCEPTED body of knowledge in ICT. halimbawa, ang systema ng pagaaply ko ng ICT is effectively working with me, and may not be effectively working with some other else.. although it is said there is no accepted body of knowledge BUT in ICT we have BEST PRACTICES..

cheers..  toast::

so mahirap...
