Same for all four Robins (Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian) pre-New 52. Grant Morrison opposed the idea of retconning the Batman mythos when the New 52 was hastily conceptualized. Morrison, at that time, was writing the penultimate act of his Batman run, which culminated in a "resolution" for the Damian character he introduced. If Dan Didio had his way and changed most of the things about Batman's history, Morrison's work would have become a convoluted mess.
Scott Snyder recently finished a mega storyarc entitled "Zero Year," but it did not include the first Robin's origin.
Anyways, I wouldn't really take this New 52 seriously at this point. Rumors are rampant that DC will be returning to its pre-Flashpoint status, while retaining a few of the changes that were made. Personally, from a decades-long comic book fan, I'd give this New 52 two more years... just enough time to establish another Crisis event that will *cough*cough* "justify" yet another reboot.
