installed from? steam? cd? file?
how was install done? direct folder copy? via setup of game? setup from 3rd party (i.e. crack files)?
was there any error during install? did you just choose ignore error to continue install?

in that case, the answer is simple, the method used to crack the game was wrong so instead of the game running fine, you end up with only a black screen
