Hi guys, gusto ko lang sana to hear your opinion about IT training. Currently i'm working as a Technical Support Engineer (first job, 6 months-present). We troubleshoot hardware,software and network problem, PC configuration&deployment etc.

I want to broaden my knowledge, gusto ko sana mag system administrator. Actually we are also using Active directory pero limited access lang like creating and configuring computer/laptop name.

I want to invest in myself thru learning. Any recommendation of training program related sa wants ko ? Yung mejo affordable  ::laffman : btw i'm from manila

I think CCNA is the best route for your experience.

mag CCNA ka na nga lang, yun pinakaaccessible at pinakamadali.

Kung gusto mo challenge, magspecialize ka sa isa dun sa mga software suite, specially yung mga tipong Sharepoint, Lotus, etc. di nababa ng 100k sweldo nyan locally.

dagdag mo na ITIL

tapos mag CCNA ka para hataw.

Madami search ka sa net ng mga training materials.then aral, then invest ka sa test.

Go for CCNA and then get at least one microsoft cert on AD or server administration maybe.

Pasensya na chief, di ko ma direct ang sagot ko kasi di ako ganung ka bihasa na mag hanap ng training. more on self-study ako, lalo kung administration.

bali sa akin kasi when we say administration and something alike, need nating gumawa ng ladder para maTunton ang in-depth skills.

siguro lader ko dyan is:
1. networking: medyo overkill cisco.
- networking basics
- net, subnet setup.
- what is ports, common ports and setup.
2. operating system.
- brief unix (solaris/mac), linux (debian/redhat and distors) and its application.
3. distributed architecture and soa (service oriented architecture).
- what are ports and services?
- servers, services and service providers such as ldap, db, webservice, ejb, mail, file, etc.
- application server and services: Java (weblogic, jboss, Glassfish, websphere, apache), .Net (iis). *need mo rin kasi may alam onte sa administration etc.

not really inDepth need sa ganyan. hmm, kung taga q.c. ka lang, isang starbucks lang katapat nyan at notebook, siguro 1 hour, bigay ko sayo briefing lang. tapos gagawa ka ng ladder kung paano mo aaralin ang mga to. brief lang ng setup setup and idea.

ang pagkaka intindi ko kasi sa administrator, sila yung nag gagawa ng computer, nag sesetup ng network, sila nag creacreate ng server instances. then yung mga developer and users, sila mag sasabi sa inyo kung ano need nila such as group:
1. pa install naman ganito...
2. pa add ng ram...
3. wala akong access sa printer
4. bat blocked ako sa ganito, pa whitelist.
5. pa add ng ganitong site sa block list.
6. dapat ang network ng ganito, eh accessible ang client vpn. need kong mapunta sa ganitong subnet.
7. pagawa ng linux instance na ganito.
8. pa adjust naman folder size sa ganito.
9. pa add naman ng username ko sa ganitong group para may access sa ganitong services
10. pa install naman ng ganitong (e.g.: apache) sa ganitong server, paki change yung http port from 80 to 8080.
and so-on.

bali pag meron ka na nung briefing, alam mo na aaralin mo. di ko nga pala alam lahat yan, more on alam ko lang yung brief and some is nakalimutan ko na, bali nasa developer part lungs lang ako.
