Is the actor Pancho Pelagio still alive? If not, what was his date of death and what did he die from? And what was his date of birth?
-
1924-1976... not too much about him...

Well yes, the Tagalog Wikipedia says he was born 1924 and died in 1976, but those dates are unsourced. I would not completely trust the Tagalog Wikipedia (there is a lot of information there that is incorrect, and information is missing from many articles). Hopefully, we can locate in other sources, a birth date as well as a death date, unless he is still alive.

I just found out he's still alive, but on death row.

He's still waiting for his execution. He's in prison for murder.

did you read that article? it says the author visited the prison on 1970, upon the invitation of Alejo Santos (then the Governor of the prison bureau). Santos died in the 1984 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alejo_Santos).
at the aftermath of that article, Pancho Pelagio did win his appeal (http://www.chanrobles.com/scdecisions/jurisprudence1967/may1967/gr_l-16177_1967.php)
Wherefore this Court affirms the decision under appeal insofar as it imposes the death penalty on appellant Oscar Caymo, but modifies the conviction of appellant Pancho Pelagio from robbery with homicide to simple robbery under Article 294, paragraph 5, R.P.C., with the aforementioned aggravating circumstances. Accordingly and applying the Indeterminate Sentence Law, the said appellant is hereby sentenced to a prison term of from four years and two months of prision correccional to eight years and one day of prision mayor.
related to this is this case (http://www.chanrobles.com/scdecisions/jurisprudence1980/jan1980/gr_25975_77_1980.php), which in a separate opinion, Justice Antonio, specifically mentioned the Pelagio case in which he should not have been guilty of the killing

My mistake. Do you have any information regarding whether Pancho Pelagio is still alive or not?

hmm... interesting case... well, since capital punishment had long been gone and he won the appeal, in all probability, he may be released already and assumed another name... just my insight though....

So then, you think he's still alive?

I was able to speak with Pancho Pelagio's granddaughter April Mercadejas Pelagio on Facebook. She said that he had been dead for a long time and that she wasn't even born yet when he died. His filmography stops at the year 1976. So, I guess a birth year of 1924 and a death year of 1976 for him are indeed correct. Well, a person never truly dies, as long as he/she is not forgotten. Pancho Pelagio can never truly die, for his image has been permanently captured on film.
