Businessman Mikhail Prokhorov announced that he was in the process of putting the Brooklyn Nets under Russian ownership.

Although the U.S. and Europe have leveled economic sanctions against Russia for annexing Crimea, Prokhorov--and the Nets, indirectly or otherwise if their owner's move is finalized--appears to be safe since he supposedly has no ties to Vladimir Putin.
