People, this is beyond the issue of respect nor deferment. The critics, mostly republicans, are trying to get every single dirt they can on my president. They just want his 4-year presidency to be a tumultuous one so come by 2012, re-election will be near impossible for him. This is not about him deferring to a foreign leader at all. In fact, the Japanese emperor doesn't even have the power anymore. True, they still have a huge influence, but power the have no longer. The emperor is more of a symbol now than anything else; much like Queen Elizabeth II of England. This is nothing but misleading propagandas to make American voters feel that their president is not standing up for them.  >:(

That's a sign of respect. I don't think that Obama's gesture should, in any way, be seen as degrading to the American people. Nakakatawa na issue na sa kanila yun.
