As per title of the post, I do not see any cruelty in the picture posted.  Otherwise, the thread started should have used more descriptive and exact adjectives to describe an actual situation instead of using lingo that only he or some of his ilk can understand. If I can still recall my Pilipino subject in my elementary years, "malupit" is the vernacular of cruel and nothing in the cut do I see any act of cruelty.

If you cannot see any cruelty on the picture Manong chances are:
  • either you are living abroad
  • not paying the right taxes
  • enjoying the perks of a relative politician
  • dont know anything about traffic

1. A Range Rover Evoque costs 4M - 5M PHP, a salary of a Congressman is only 40K PHP (see http://www.financemanila.net/2009/08/how-much-do-philippine-government-officials-make-in-salary/) . Shall I do the Math for you to compute how many years an average Juan Dela Cruz earning 40K can buy this high end SUV? Even if you say the politician is coming from a wealthy family (again Oligrachy).

......Is this where our taxes go? again as I have said the Congressman can have a Montero, Everest or Fortuner which is already a decent ride (even if you ask the guys from Top Gear Philippines) worth 1M - 2M but no, he would prefer the more expensive one at the cost of Juan Dela Cruz.

2. IMHO, the driver of this SUV did the "veteran move" in traffic, he used the left lane which going to Wilson st. (Greenhills) & swerved to the right just to be infront of the pack going to EDSA. How did I get this idea? because I always see this going to the office. My former office is just the one beside Caltex & Unionbank (right portion of the picture), Bonaventure Bldg.

With all due respect to your goodselves, the presumption that ownership of a vehicle considered as "high end" smacks of corruption is rather myopic to say the least. Remember that one can easily buy a car plate bearing the number "8".  Having a plate with the number "8" does not automatically mean the rider is a Congressman.  This is for everybody. You have to check in the plate the region or area which the owner represents.  Pag wala yun, say Misamis Oriental or Cebu, the owner is just some tsinoy or some insecure asshole. Pag meron "8" dyan na wala yun area that he represents, wag kayong matakot dun sa driver. Secondly, how do you know naman if the Congressman does have family money which allows him to buy "high end" cars? In the first place, what's wrong having a high end car? We are in a democracy, isnt it? If a public official can show in his/her SALN that he has his/her own mony to buy a high end car, so what's the big deal? But still, I do not see any act of "cruelty" in what the person did. I am a private citizen with no relative in high office and I hate talking nor being friendly with politicians or police/military personnel altho I may know them personally. But you are correct, I do not want to pay taxes which is why I always use a BVI company to transact. If you want, I can even teach you tax avoidance measures.

Yes "8" plate nos. are for Congressmen only, in fact they are allowed to have 4 cars with "low number protocol plate" BUT they will be held accountable on what ever happens or if in case the said vehicle will be involved in a traffic accident or violation as mandated by the EO. So on this incident even if the driver is someone aside from the congressman, that congressman would still be accountable. Paano kung nakabangga yung Evoque pag swerve, dont you think the driver will not inform the Tongressman? dont you think the Tongressman will not be furious?

If in case the low number protocol plate is illegal then that is now a problem of law enforcement & lto.

Now regarding swerving....while infront of the pack, you are waiting for the green light, kampante ka na lahat ng nasa kaliwang lane are going inside Greenhills then BOOM a car swerves infront of you (syempre di mag si signal light yan), do you think makaka-react ka pa? I dont think you are a psychic who would know every move of the drivers near you. :D

Road courtesy should start within, may pulis man o wala. Gumagana man ang traffic light o hindi.

But you are correct, I do not want to pay taxes which is why I always use a BVI company to transact. If you want, I can even teach you tax avoidance measures.

tsk tsk tsk.....if you dont pay your taxes right so what are you? SMART? you COULD just be the same as these corrupt politicians? I just hope your tax avoidance schemes are legal & within the law. kudos to you for finding a loophole in the system.  :applause
