As per title of the post, I do not see any cruelty in the picture posted. Otherwise, the thread started should have used more descriptive and exact adjectives to describe an actual situation instead of using lingo that only he or some of his ilk can understand. If I can still recall my Pilipino subject in my elementary years, "malupit" is the vernacular of cruel and nothing in the cut do I see any act of cruelty.
If you cannot see any cruelty on the picture Manong chances are:
- either you are living abroad
- not paying the right taxes
- enjoying the perks of a relative politician
- dont know anything about traffic
1. A Range Rover Evoque costs 4M - 5M PHP, a salary of a Congressman is only 40K PHP (see
http://www.financemanila.net/2009/08/how-much-do-philippine-government-officials-make-in-salary/) . Shall I do the Math for you to compute how many years an average Juan Dela Cruz earning 40K can buy this high end SUV? Even if you say the politician is coming from a wealthy family (again Oligrachy).
......Is this where our taxes go? again as I have said the Congressman can have a Montero, Everest or Fortuner which is already a decent ride (even if you ask the guys from Top Gear Philippines) worth 1M - 2M but no, he would prefer the more expensive one at the cost of Juan Dela Cruz.
2. IMHO, the driver of this SUV did the "
veteran move" in traffic, he used the left lane which going to Wilson st. (Greenhills) & swerved to the right just to be infront of the pack going to EDSA. How did I get this idea? because I always see this going to the office. My former office is just the one beside Caltex & Unionbank (right portion of the picture), Bonaventure Bldg.
