Stats wise, it has to be either Ramon "El Capitan" Fernandez or Alvin "The Captain" Patrimonio. As you can see their monickers are practically one and the same. Samboy Lim couldve been but with injury prone body, it never materialzed. Robert Jaworski is in the running too as he, in my opinion, is the greatest guard that ever played in the PBA. Even the NBA was interested in him at one point. However his accomplishments and what he has brought to the PBA is not given justice by his stats throghout his career. toast::

Avelino B. Lim, Jr. (born April 1, 1962), better known as Samboy Lim, is a former basketball player of the Philippine Basketball Association. As a forward/shooting guard, the iconic Lim distinguished himself with Magic Johnson-like ball handling skills and Julius "Dr. J" Erving leaping and dunking abilities, he is best remembered as a player who would leap towards the basket, switch the ball from one hand to the other while in mid-air, and finish off with a dunk.
In the 1990 Beijing Asian Games, the Philippines sent an all-star pro team, coached by Robert Jaworski, to regain the country's basketball supremacy in the Asian Games. The national team is composed of an all-star pro players such as 1990 PBA Most Valuable Player Allan Caidic, Alvin Patrimonio, Ramon Fernandez, Hector Calma, and Samboy Lim. Samboy was named into the Asian Games Basketball Mythical Five selection. The team did a great job winning all games with a large margin but lost in the final against China and the settled for the silver medal.
Samboy is known to have knee-high socks and sported jersey no. 9, his testament and tribute to his idol Julius "Dr. J" Erving even though Lim stood barely six-feet.
Samboy could also throw threes and has a mean long tom added to his arsenal. In one of the invitationals where foreign teams were pitted against PBA teams, Samboy Lim saved the face of the Philippines when he single-handedly took over in the IBA-PBA challenge in 1987 where the import was a then obscure Bobby Parks.In one of the championship game against Shell...then commentator now PBL commissioner Trinidad during half time said that Shell is having a headache ( word to that effect ) in the name of S-A-M-B-O-Y because Samboy's killing Shell almost singlehandidly. :applause :applause :applause

Benjie because he's 10 years ahead of his time--tinalo nya si El Presidente at The Captain sa MVP nung rookie year nya (1989). Tapos nilampaso nya LAHAT ng Fil-(Sh)Ams 10 years and lots of injuries later winning his second MVP 1999.
si Meneses kasi isa syang 'improved Samboy' sa paningin ko. 1995 MVP plus kinatatakutan pa sya sa international games.

First, you go to the list kung sino mga naka 5,000 points. Pag marami pa rin, sino ang nakagawa ng 10,000 points. Then, dun sa mga nakagawa ng 10,000 points, sino ang mga nakakuha ng pinakamaraming MVP awards. On that basis, alam mo na kung sino.
Since basketball is a team game, hindi naman pwede maka score kung wala ka assist. So pwede mo din based sa kung sino sa kanila ang pinakamaraming nakasali sa Best First Five or Best Team or pinakamaraming na nominate sa Best Dream Team.
Sa 10,000 points, ang alam ko would only be Atoy and Bogs. Sa basis ng maraming MVP would be these two plus Fernandez and Philip. Sa Dream Team would be Atoy, Philip and Mon. Watch the films of those old games and you can see the fluidity of their plays compared with those players nowadays. Dahil sa galing, they can dictate the outcome of games. That was the time nagsimula ang game fixing.
I have watched a lot of times na naligo ng palpal si Jaworski kay Cezar so I would not even consider Bobby to be great. Media hype lang yun kasi I think Bobby got his MVP in the PBA after several guys have had it ahead of him.
Pag ang basis would be the praise of foreign players at participation sa Olympics, Ed Ocampo would be the best.
