Need Help... QuickBooks With VPN
« on: December 07, 2008, 04:58:46 pm »

I have tried using LogMeIn Hamachi, nakaka-connect ako, browsing the shared folders of the provincial office computers, pero pag nag open na ng file ng QuickBooks, humihinto na ang computer (non-responsive).

Gagamitin kong P2P File Server.

Badly needed your response as soon as possible, kakailanganin ko po ito para sa Strategic Planning and Proposals namin under IT/MIS Department.

Maraming Salamat po.

Fafi for low budget file sharing pwede mo try install

Pcanywhere- using it with a model and dial up connection with our company its ok but the file sharing speed is slow.

1st branch 192.168.0.1
2nd branch 192.168.1.1

and so on.

Hello, FYI lang, I have done a lot of research regarding this issue, and I have learned that running QuickBooks through VPN will cost a lot, using Terminal Server and a leased line to have a stable connection. And one more thing, opening a QuickBooks File through VPN will consume a lot of bandwidth with no guarantee that you file is safe and some forum and experts says that it is not advisable, for the file may easily be corrupted. So I have come to this one very simple solution.  I will install a Remote Desktop Software on the QuickBooks File Server, and another on the computer that will connect to the QuickBooks File, so instead of running the QB file from the branch computer, just run the Remote Desktop Software then encode the data directly to the File Server.  Hehe, I hope this works. Cross your fingers for me.
