Former pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao, seeking to get his mojo back after being knocked out cold by rival Juan Manuel Marquez in December, will return to action to face brawler Brandon Rios this fall, Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz told ESPN.com on Monday.Koncz said that Pacquiao will face Rios at the welterweight limit of 147 pounds in a scheduled 12-round fight that will be televised on HBO PPV in the United States.Rios, a former lightweight titlist, has had his last two fights at junior welterweight and split a pair of all-action battles with Mike Alvarado. Rios knocked out Alvarado in the seventh round in an October barn-burner and lost a close unanimous decision to him in a March 30 rematch, which was for a vacant interim junior welterweight title, that is the leading fight of the year candidate. Most Pinoys accused FMJ of cherry picking can we say the same thing with Manny and his advisers? They didnt pick Alvarado who beat Rios,cause of his style,has footwork and boxing skills.They picked a guy who's main defense is his face like a little version of Margarito. Well i guess its business as usual for Uncle Bob and Top Rank no more skilled or slick guys vs. Manny. :(

Alvarado in the second fight used his boxing skills to beat Rios. Rios is a straight up brawler,Alvarado has the skills and slick moves that Manny's advisors thinks will give Manny a run for his money.While Rios will just come forward with his face and gets knock around like a punching bag. toast::

Bawas lang siguro ng star power yung fight pero para sabihing "boring", parang hindi kasi pareho silang come forward fighter. Did you watch any Bam Bam fight? Tsaka yung Alvarado Rios 1 is fight of the year candidate. ;)

Rios is a little Margarito taylor made for Manny besides this is a lightweight guy so from lightweight,he has to climb to lightwelterweight,to welterweight.Maybe next time Manny can pick a superfeatherweight champion to go up to welterweight ;D

Manny got KTFO for being to aggresive vs. Marquez so more than likely we might see him fight more defensively and try to pile up the points.Last time he listen to the fans to be aggresive he got KTFO. 8)
