MANILA, Philippines - Francis Casey Alcantara of the Philippines and Cheng-Peng Hsieh of Chinese-Taipei defeated Mikhail Biryukov of Russia and Yasutaka Uchiyama of Japan 6-4, 6-2 to win the boys' doubles championship in the Australian Open on Saturday in Melbourne.
The tandem of Alcantara and Hsieh, seeded seventh, downed Maximilian Neuchrist and Tristan-Samuel Weissborn of Austria 7-6 (4), 6-4 in the semifinal round to reach the finals.
Alcantara, the country's top-rated tennis player, and Hsieh closed the tournament without dropping a set. - GMANews.TV
