Defending champ Nadal withdraws from Wimbledon

WIMBLEDON, England (AP)—Rafael Nadal figured he couldn’t win Wimbledon this year because of his achy knees, so he decided it didn’t make sense to try.

Nadal withdrew from the grass-court Grand Slam tournament Friday, three days before it begins, becoming only the second men’s champion in 35 years to decline to defend his Wimbledon title.

“When I start a tournament like Wimbledon, it is to try to win,” the No. 1-ranked Nadal said, “and my feeling right now is I’m not ready to play to win.”

Kahit wala si Nadal, it will not be a cakewalk for the Fed. Djokovic, del Potro, Tsonga, Murray still pose real threats for him. But I will be rooting for Roger for his 15th Grandslam title. Go Fed!!!  toast::

with this development malalaglag ba si Nadal sa number 1 in the world ranking? sa Wimbi top fav talaga si 5 times champ Federer & yes maraming pwedeng champ din sa London grandslam event like Murray, Dyokovic, Roddick, del Potro, Verdasco. Wimbledon starts June 22.

Hindi pa Boss Yubi. Medyo malayo ang agwat nila ni Roger Fed. Although magiging substantial ang pag-gain ng ground ni Roger to be Number 1 again pag nagchampion sya.
