Judo are great in takedowns but not usually good with submissions unless, he planned ahead and trained for it.

Keep in mind he didnt get his black belt for nothing bro. Judo cardio and training may not be focused on the ground, but it far exceeds what most newbie grapplers are training in. Do not engage on the ground. Go for strikes. Good luck.
