ever wonder why some people have excellent Broadband internet service while some dont? well simply because of a few facts:

1) the advertised speed is only the maximum available meaning if it says 1mbps it means your connection has the ability to max out its download speed to 1mbps but depending on your areas actually connection speed it can be anywhere between 1kbps to 1mbps

2) USB sticks have simcards and can be unlocked... SHOCKER!!! hehe sarcasm aside do you wonder why they have simcards? well simply because Broadband internet runs on CELLULAR DATA(same data connections our cellphones and smartphones use to connect to the internet) which are GPRS, EDGE(2.5g) and UMTS(3g) meaning if your areas does not have 3g then you cannot expect 3g speeds and your connection will backstep to what is available everywhere which is GSM Edge or even the slower GPRS

3) if certain broadband providers have DATA USAGE LIMIT it can be either 2 ways, 1 is what Tattoo uses that in 1 day you only have 1gb of allotted data and when you reach it your service will stop while 2 is that they lower your speed the more data you consume and the more you consume the slower your connection gets

4) WiTribe is a FUCKING JOKE, it is CAPPED and it will progressively become slower the more you use it (by consuming more of the allotted monthly data), but if you only need it for basic stuff like web browsing then i guess its fine

totoo ito, kapag may 3g sa area nyo, dun siya kokonek, pagwala gsm/gprs at superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr bagal....


nung una nagsun ako,2mbps talaga nakakadownload ako (250kbps) then mga ilang linggo lang,wala na. gprs na lang at halos 0.2 mbps na lang. tsktsk... kaya ayun,binigay ko sakapatid ko. its runs at around 512kbps sa area nila.pwede na rin kesa sa area namin, minsan pa napuputol.tsk tsk...

when you browse too much mabilis mauubos ang 6gb limit and when you hit 6gb your 1mbps will be lowered to 512kbps, oag umabot na sa 8gb(6gb + 2gb additional) bababa sa 256kbps and pabagal ng pabagal the more you exceed your monthly cap

sa Tattoo naman 1gb/day ang cap, when you reach 1gb then bigla na lang hihinto and hindi na magagamit until the next day

Kahit gano kabilis ang connection ng USB broadband, any LAN connected net with minimum speed will kick its ass. Pano sobrang lake ng gap between minimum and maximum speed; mararamdaman mo lang ang difference kapag nagdodownload ka. Pero in terms of browsing, very poor performance

pano pag yung 512kbps plan ng PLDT myDSL vs the 2mbps ng WiTribe 4G? hehehe sabi mo kasi ANY eh, remember 4G is fast and is stable on the maximum achievable download speed

Anlabo nga ng post ni mayki, sumakit ulo ko e, kaya lang naman nauso yang mga usb broadband sticks e demand for portability. Hindi naman expected na mag ddl ka ng san katutak na torrent while naglalakad ka or nag kakape.

what about ang globe, pldt, bayantel etc. may cap ba ang mga residential dsl nila? kasi ako madalas nagdodownload pero di ko pinapansin ang mga cap cap na yan

Tama naman at sakto yung bayad ng subscribers nila e, sana naman pantayan nila ng sakto din na service.

Yan kasing advertisement nila pang akit lang yan..yung "UP TO" na word nila eh marketing strategy lang yan. Posibleng umabot pero walang assurance. May pinsan ako nagtratrabaho sa isang internet provider at aminado siya na hindi talaga umaabot yung advertised speed nila at sangkaterbang reklamo inaabot nila. yung wi tribe sablay din kasi 6gb?saglit mo lang gagamitin yun lalo na kung mahilig ka sa FB at streaming sites. Pero matanong ko lang sa mga naka post paid na USB broadband ng sun, talagang mabilis?kasi marami akong naririnig na mabilis DAW kumpara sa pre-paid.

walang cap ang ADSL afaik.

 music::Ngayon ko lang nalaman yung tungkol sa cap na yan.. Dati smartbro kami, una mabilis pero nung tumagal bumagal din, ung antenna pa. D pa usb. Pero ngayon pldt mydsl na kami, okay naman. Kuntento na ko pandownload ng moobees. Buti walang cap to kundi babagal na torrent ko after download ng anim na muvies worth 6gb, tulad ng sa witribe.

Kya nga ako naiinis din gumamit ng USB type na modem. Kung gumagamit ako pang update lang ng OS at mostly umaga mga 5:30 to 6:30am kasi mabilis mag download ng update. Pero kung mga movies? nku waste ng pera lang. Isang araw d maka download ng movie, sayang pa ang kuryente. Buti pa sa mga net cafe umaabot pa ng 1MB ang download, dpa sumasakit ang ulo ko.

Pero try nyo pag check kunwari sa speed gaya ng speakeasy, aba ang bilis kunwari ng download, pero pag RS o hotfile kahit na premium user ka, makainis talaga.

same lang speed ng prepaid and post paid. kaya lang parang mas stable and prepaid. sa prepaid kasi bumabagsak ng less 100kbps, pero yung sa postpaid 200+pinakamababa. isa pang pangit sa sun eh yung di pwede sa torrent and pagkakaalam ko di rin pwede yung mg RS/MU etc.

Lalaban ang pldt 512kbps jan pero dapat ang start ng measurement e after ng 1 week of continued surfing and downloading

Ang definition pala ng Globe ng unlimited surfing ay actually limited lang to 800mb per day.

nope, 2g(gprs) 2.5g(EDGE), 3g(UMTS) and 3.5g(HSDPA) all require GSM signals kasi dito sasakay ang Cellular data and its 2100, 4G uses its own Data transmission meaning sa areang EDGE lang(walang 3G) pwede magkaron ng 4G or may areas na may 3.5g pero walang 4G

globe is so FCKED up dati 1gb now 800mb na lang, nawalan kai ng myDSL for 5 days and i was forced to plug in my cellphone sa PC for internet and everyday it got cut off sa 800mb
