Trillanes can’t attend sessions

Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV will not be able to attend sessions and other activities at the Senate after the judge hearing the coup d’etat case against him denied yesterday his motion to leave his cell at the Marine stockade in Fort Bonifacio.

In ruling against Trillanes, Judge Oscar Pimentel of the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 148 said he agreed with state prosecutors that permitting Trillanes to go to the Senate “partakes of special privilege and preferential treatment.”

Pimentel also rejected the request of Trillanes that he be allowed to meet his Senate staff at his place of detention, and to give interviews to the media.

“The Court not having been persuaded by the reasons given by the accused Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, and for lack of merit, all his requests are hereby denied,” read the court’s order.

i think kailangan payagan sya..2talo sa kulungan pa rin nmn sya nauwi..di nya magagampanan ang trabaho nya kung nasa loob lang sya..at hindi nya maibibigay ang mga pahayag nya regarding sa mga issues sa senate. gun:: gun::

 bnana Mabuti naman at tama ang judge! di siya nag pa preassure..... tama din ang prosecution, 11 million plus who voted for him is not equal to the 75 million of us who did not vote for him...... besides .... the people who elected him knew fully well na he is  under detention...... for an unbailable crime of treason...... (triador) .....we educated him and intrusted to him the defense and security of the nation and he used our trust to be a traitor against the republic..... he who was trained and given the responsibility of defending the honour of our country used the same against the republic. The court has spoken, and spoken very well.  Trillanes deserves to be in prison, and he cannot claim equal rights vested on law abidding citizens like us.  Mabuhay ang hustisya, mabuhay ang democrasya, mabuhay ang bayang Pilipino.  psrulez::  toast::

tama nga naman ang judge dito...job well done, your honor! if ever that they approve trillanes' petition, it would be unfair to former congressman jalosjos who became congressman then but unfortunately was not given a chance to attend congress session..on the second hand, if trillanes' petition would be given due course, it might be a precedent for another situation like this. sana inisip muna ni trillanes ang implications ang pagdating ng araw na to kung saan na halal sya bilang senador at sa kasamaang palad, DI NYA MAGAMPANAN TRABAHO NYA! nagsayang lang ng boto ang mga taong bumoto sa kanya..

I am proud filipino but I hate the truth that Trillanes was elected senator. People should grow up. Now look. It becomes more complicated. No offense but I dont like him. He is not good enough to be a senator. Being good/sympathetic is not enough. Sana may law na bawal na mag run ang mga taong in criminal trial. diba. para walang aberya.

nakakaloko lang db., trillanes was angaints the goverment and yet he run 4 senate., laffman:: laffman:: yet isusulong nya ang impeachment kay gloria na lagi nyang sinasabi., pero alam naman nate na sa house magsisimula ang impeachment process, and sana kung me problema sa AFP e di sana un ang gawan nya ng paraan bilang senador, hindi un mha bagay n hindi nya magagawa at papogi lng sa masa., kung kaya mgimpeach ng pres ang mga senador edi sana na impeach na si gloria with the withdraw of support ng drilon wing in the senate plus the opp senators., IMO

Seriously? When he staged his dumb ass act, he didn't get a reasonable support from the people, soldiers, politicians, NO ONE. The people were afraid, the soldiers were not convinced, and the politicians, the politicians just acted as negotiators.

The Judge's decision is in accordance with law.

Trillanes,being a detention prisoner is well within the Makati RTC's jurisdiction. Hence, the Judge has the sole prerogative to grant him bail or not. His case is not bailable. His contention that 11million people have spoken is untenable since that would be an indirect circumvention of the law.The law is clear,his case is non bailable. As to his contention that since he is already a senator, he is no longer a flight risk,that is also untenable considering the nature of his case. If the Court will consider his arguments, then those prisoners or those who have pending cases will just have to run for senator in order to evade punishment. It is not possible for a law to prohibit detention prisoners from running as this would contradict the constitutional presumption of innocense of the accused.
A senator has no legal obligation to report/be interviewed by the media periodically as this is not part of his legislative functions. But considering that he owes his being elected as senator  to the Media,then he is precluded to give media interviews.Meriam Santiago is right that he has to know first his duties as a senator and not just uttered some uncalled remarks like "once he gets elected as a senator,he will work things out to impeach GMA".Well,it is understandable that he was just merely grandstanding and being not a lawyer,he needs to know first the law/rules. Good thing for the other neophyte senators, upon elected, they never talked about the impeachment issue as this would affect their credibility as a senator/judge in case of an impeachment will be brought out. At least they really understood the nature of impeachment proceedings.

Opinion ko sana hope they will revised whatever law it is that prohibits an individual to run for office in the Government when he/she is still facing criminal case. Specially the case of Trillanes "Treason" unbailable.

Dahil sa kagaguhang sinasabi nyo, nabunyag at nabuko ang isang general garcia na kumukurakot sa mga buwis na binabayaran natin sa gobyernong ito. Kaso ano nga ba ginawa ng gobyerno sa totoong kriminal???
