Canon 70D is now official!

Canon has officially announced the successor to the 60D, the Canon EOS 70D. It follows the same build and features as the older 60D but with additional features like a dual-pixel CMOS sensor.

The Canon 70D sits between the older 7D and the 60D but Canon introduced the dual-pixel CMOS in order to capture better video at faster focus times. It’s actually almost the same body size and design as the 60D.

7fps continuous shot
ISO 100-12800 (25600 expanded)
19-point AF system
1080p video @ 30fps

Looks like Canon is focusing on video recording rather than still picture quality of the 70D.

The Canon 70D will retail for $1,199 for the body only or $1,349 with the 18-55 STM lens, or $1,549 with the 18-135 STM lens. No word on pricing and release date for the Philippines yet.

look enticing but it has very little difference with my 60D. And as they always say, "it's not in the bow and arrow...but on the archer" hehe

tangan naman ng gumawa and nag-upload ng video nito. uulitin ko, yun pong nag-upload ha, hindi ikaw ts. pano ba naman kasi, demo about video capabilities and yet hindi naman fullhd yung vid. chaka hanggang pictures lang naman magagaling yang mga brands na yan, hindi nila kayang pantayan ang sony pagdating sa video. sana pictures nalang demo nila since dun sila excel. dominated na ng sony ang video. hindi ako nagfe-flame, i'm sure kahit kayong mga fanboy ng canon/nikon/olympus alam nyo yan.

fanboy ng sony here. at alam kong talo sony kung compared sa nikon/canon/olympus pagdating sa still pics. hinusgahan ko lang sya dahil sa video demo...

dagdag ko na rin, baka may magalit na fanboy or user ng ibang brands like nikon and olympus. both nikon and olympus partnered with sony. nikon admitted that sony is their supplier of APS-C sensors while olympus teamed up with sony because they believe in sony's expertise in high-resolution 4K video and 3D.

hindi kaya dahil na rin sa merger ng both companies kaya nagbibigay-daan lang sila (sony) sa nikon and olympus and hindi naglalabas ng top of the line slr/slt para di naman maapektuhan ang business nila between the two? kasi kung iisipin natin, bat nga naman sila magpapadaig lalo na alam nilang mas lamang sila sa teknolohiya dahil ultimo nikon/olympus naniniwala na mas may kapasidad ang sony? not unless may agreement sila.
