Not taking anything away from Bruce Bowen, but he is not as great as people think he is. No doubt, he is a good defender. But as Scottie Pippen mentioned before, Bruce Bowen became the great defender that he is right now because of Tim Duncan. With the offensive player, whom Bowen is defending, knowing that there is a good shot-blocker in the form of Duncan near the basket, he thinks twice before actually taking a crack at the basket. And making the other player think twice deters his moves towards the basket, thus, making Bowen look like he himself deterred the attack.
