Fil-American UFC sensation Brandon Vera will join 16 international mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters in an exhibition for Filipino MMA fans on Thursday, June 9, at the Mall of Asia (MOA) activity center, from 4-6 p.m.
The exhibition will showcase the basics of MMA fighting stances and styles, as well as the fighters’ training and practice regimen in the run-up to Pacific X-treme Combat (PXC), which happens on Saturday, June 11, 6.p.m., at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World. The Filipino fighters participating in the exhibition at the Mall of Asia and PXC 24 include Carlos Tiongson and Rogelito “Nonoyâ€
Plomeda (bantamweight); with elite international fighters from Brazil, Korea, California, Florida, Hawaii, Guam and Saipan.
Vera’s Manila visit is in the tradition of those by UFC MMA superstars Georges St. Pierre and Chuck Liddel, which proves the growing following of MMA in the country.
