OPENdns ka na!! epektib

1. Select Control Panel from the Start menu.

2. Click Network Connections from the Control Panel choices.

3. Choose your connection from the Network Connections window.

4. Click Properties button.

5. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.

6. Click the radio button Use the following DNS server addresses
and type in OpenDNS addresses in the Preferred DNS server
and Alternate DNS server fields, then click OK.

Please write down your current DNS settings before switching to OpenDNS, in case you want to return to your old settings for any reason.

Preferred DNS server address for Open DNS is:

    * 208.67.222.222

Alternate DNS server address for Open DNS is:

    * 208.67.220.220

7. Restart your computer.
Visit http://welcome.opendns.com/ to test your new settings.

a welcome message will appear.

i have been using OpenDNS for over 6 months now. when i bought a router, i also configured it to use OpenDNS instead of the DNS server provided by ISP. 

even though the DNS servers of the ISP is down (which seldom happens) i can still use the internet.
it warns against phishing attacks.
it is slightly faster than the ISP-provided DNS.
it corrects common spelling mistakes when typing addresses.
its free  ;)

No need to restart na po.

For Windows
Issue the command at MS Dos Command prompt ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, ipconfig /flushdns  or Disable/Enable your network thru Network Connections

For Linux
Issue the su command at console /sbin/network service restart

Multiple DNS servers kaya medyo mabilis mag resolve madaming naka cache.

Does this work with Smart Bro? I tried it but then after restarting, tons of error poped up. All the error says that "Entry Point Not Found." Any one here using Smart Bro?

di po ba delikado to sa mga viruses at spywares?
wla po bang negative effect to?

so far so good po. im using it for about 4 months now. wala pa nman akong naeencounter na mga ganyan..

pareng knet. if i use open DNS tong workstation ko iba-bypass ba nya ung firewall server namin? or simply ofcourse di na gagamitin ung DNS ng company in which d cya dadaan sa firewall server..

DNS: Domain Name Server, where Domain Names over na internet are Cache. Where server and workstation names are cache for LAN. Doesn't bypass the firewall settings. It only helps to resolve unknown domain names in your hosted dns server if that would be the case or even faster to resolve domain name than that of your DNS server.

so that means, okay parin gamitin ang open dns? tagal ko parin pinagiisipan kung gagamitin ko ito kahit na wala na akong problema sa bilis. cautious lang ako masyado kapag pinaguusapan na yung mga ganyan and sa registers.
