Yung kay FVR ang tawag dyan "Dave Hill Look".  http://www.davehillphoto.com/
You can achieve this in Photoshop without third party filters.
You can achieve this by doing the ff.
1. Open Picture
2. Convert it to a Smart Object
3. Go to Image/Adjustment/Shadows/Highlights (use the default: 50% Shadow 0% Highlights)
4. Create an adjustment layer...choose black and white and click Auto
5. Convert layer application to Overlay.
6. Return to Picture and go to filter/sharpen/smart sharpen (use 100% Amount 10% Radius Remove: Gaussian Blur and uncheck More Accurate.

and you're done

Yung kay Donita (by the way ang ganda nya talaga...hehehehe) "glow" ang tawag sa effect na yan and again you can achieve this w/o 3rd party filters sa PS.
1. Of course...open the pix
2. Duplicate the layer twice (paano yun duplicate and twice hehehehe)
3. Choose the middle layer and go to filter/stylize/find edges
4. Choose Image/adjustment/desaturate
5. Change the layer application to Overlay
6. Now choose the 3rd layer (uppermost part) create a layer mask
7. Option click the layer mask and Choose Image/apply image (use Layer: Layer 1 Channel RGB Blending: Normal Opacity: 100% Uncheck Preserve Transparency/ Mask
8. Change Layer apllication to screen and then choose Image Treshold...aplly to taste
9. Choose filter/gaussian blur...aplly to taste
and your done...

hehehehe ang galing...ok yan try to experiment more, yung mga 3rd party filters pampabilis lang ng oras pero medyo mahina ang control sa final output ng image...yung mga built in-effects ng PS is more than enough to create outstanding image effect.
