Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas,are getting a divorce after eighteen years of marriage. Apparently it was Melanie, 56, who filed for divorce from Antonio, 53, citing irreconcilable differences. She’s also seeking spousal support, child support and sole physical (although joint legal) custody of their daughter Stella, who turns eighteen in September.
According to Just Jared, (http://www.justjared.com/2014/06/06/antonio-banderas-melanie-griffith-split-after-18-years-of-marriage/) the divorce is amicable, which makes sense because they’ve both had plenty of practice ending marriages — this is Antonio’s second divorce and Melanie’s fourth.
Eighteen years! That's a long effing time, especially by Hollywood standards.They must have tried to work through it. Just a couple years ago when supposedly Banderas was struggling to win back Griffith after rumors of cheating (http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2012/07/antonio-banderas-melanie-griffith-split-saving-marriage/) on her broke out? But I guess in the end, they couldn't repair the damage.Le sigh!
