UFC 180: Cain's Out, Hunt's In; Lauzon Out Too But Who's In?
« on: October 23, 2014, 05:02:42 am »
Fans who were anticipating the clash between World heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and MMA veteran Fabricio Werdum at UFC 180 received bad news a day or two ago when Velasquez was officially taken off the main event due to a knee injury.

Their sadness turned back to joy, however, when the UFC announced that Mark Hunt would be stepping up to face Werdum -- with the interim heavyweight title at stake.

The match between perennial favorites Joe Lauzon and Diego Sanchez might also be due for a change as news came in yesterday that Lauzon was withdrawn from competition for unspecified reasons. No fighter has been called up as a replacement, making it entirely possible that the fight might be rescheduled for another event.
