Philippine court orders Marcos widow to return $280,000
« on: April 11, 2011, 05:53:43 am »
A Philippine court has ordered the widow of dictator Ferdinand Marcos to return 12 million pesos ($280,000) her husband pocketed from the government's food agency in 1983.

Court clerk Teresa Pabulayan says the ruling was made Friday and Imelda Marcos has 30 days to pay.

She said Monday that the antigraft court convicted Ferdinand Marcos of ordering the funds transferred to his private account in 1983, three years before he was toppled.

The conviction was based on testimony by former National Food Administrator Jesus Tanchanco, who said that Marcos instructed him to release the money. Tanchanco has been granted immunity from prosecution.

Katulad lamang ito nun tao na nag hostage sa Luneta.  Patay na pero dinedemanda pa rin.  Ang nakakatawa dito, bakit ang desisyon ng korte was made more than twenty years after na patay na ang "maysala"?
